My dad has a good friend who has a champion cutting horse and this fellow asked me to do a portrait of Diamond. He's a beautiful animal, a cherry sorrel paint. Here I go...
First of all - Mr. C sent me these two photographs and wanted me to combine them. He liked the way Diamond is standing in the first photo but he wanted his head turned. So I had to do some finagling to get his head turned around, measuring and placement, etc...
Here's how I finished out the painting.
Mr. C. seemed very pleased with his painting. Diamond's portrait now hangs proudly in Mr. C's ranch home - the same one with the lake house that I painted last year. Hope you like it, too!
